The 10th year of the Summer Survival has a winner already

The International Outdoor Championship of the Czech Armed Forces Summer Survival 2010 finished with the result announcement ceremony where a challenge cup was handed over to the winners by Brigade General Milan Kovanda, the Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces Command, on Friday October 8th 2010.

The total of 12 teams out of 17 successfully completed the 10th year of the competition. The week full of challenges testing competitors’ special physical training skills worked out the best for the team of the 73rd Tank Battalion from Přáslavice. These three consisting of WO Viktor Novotný, SSG Jiří Keznikl and SSG Milan Wurst managed to improve on last year’s second position, showing their contenders it was not just a coincidence. Surprisingly, the other top positions were reached by teams from abroad, this year for the first time. The second position was taken by Naval Special Forces from Turkey and the third one was taken by the Slovak team of the 5th Special Task Regiment from Žilina. The fact that the fourth position went to the team from Hungary proves the quality of international competition.

The organizers aimed to make the competition more challenging and demanding than the previous years, which we managed to achieve, judging by what the contestants have said. Next year, we will make an effort to set the target even a bit higher.
