After the 1st competition day, which took place at the swimming pool in Slavkov u Brna, the teams participating in the Summer SURVIVAL 2009 continued in fulfilling their tasks of the second stage of the contest in the Březina Military Training Area. The racers were to overcome the daylong 25–30 km movement on foot, which encompassed three separate competition events.
The first event of this competition day was shooting with paintball weapons taking place in the Hamry area. The teams passed through the designated track, on which moving targets appeared. The goal of this competition event was not only to pass the track as fast as possible, but also to hit the highest number of targets.
During the second event, the teams were to get over the rope traverse in the area of Drahan Valley, to which they ran along the established track. Their objective was to pass traversing across the valley in the length of 350 m ending at the top of the tree and then abseil down from the tree.
During the final phase of this movement on foot, the teams had to recover a stranded military vehicle with use of their climbing equipment and skills achieved through military climbing.
After this very demanding stage requiring high physical and psychical capabilities and skills, 2 Czech teams gave up the competition and so only 18 teams continued in accomplishing the tasks of the 3rd day of the SUMMER SURVIVAL 2009.
