Summer Survival

On Friday, as if in the token of number nine, on 9^th October 2009, Colonel (GS) Jaromír Zůna, Commandant of the Training Command – Military Academy (TC-MA), concluded the 9^th year of the International Championship Military Multi-Contest “Summer Survival 2009” at the closing ceremony that took place in the assembly hall of the Dědice Barracks. This event, which was attended by COL Miroslav Murček, MP Olomouc Commander, COL (GS) Ivo Střecha, Commander of the 7^th Mechanized Brigade Hranice, and COL (GS) Josef Kopecký, TC-MA Chief of Staff, reached its peak in the closing speech given by COL (GS) Jaromír Zůna, the representative of the organizing entity and LTC Ladislav Nagy who spoke on behalf of the the MoD Force Development Division – Operations Division, the sponsor of the competition. However, the most exciting moment came when the organizers announced the final results.

In total 18 of 20 teams finished the competition and the winner of the SUMMER SURVIVAL 2009 is the team Military Police I Prague which thus, after so dramatic race till the very last event, has become the 2009 AFCR International Champion and the AFCR Champion in the International AFCR Championship Military Multi-Contest “Summer Survival 2009”. The silver medal was won by the team MU 4423 Přáslavice A that scored 1,338.6 points, only three points less than the winner. The team MU 1837 A Chrudim gathered 1,281.9 points and finished third.

The highest position of the international contestants was achieved by the Turkish team from Istanbul that came sixth for its 1,101.7 points. In the end, all 60 competitors received the commemorative medal, and since that moment the SUMMER SURVIVAL 2009 has become history, so we have to thank all the personnel who were engaged in its preparation and organization.
