Summer Survival 2009 Has Been Opened

On Monday, October 5, 2009, the Commandant of the Training Command – Military Academy in Vyškov opened on the premises of the Dědice Barracks the 9th International AFCR Championship Military Multi-Contest “Summer Survival 2009”, which is held under the auspices of the MoD Force Development Division – Operations Division and organized, as usually, by the Military Academy in Vyškov.

The 9th international outdoor competition called "Summer Survival" will take place on 5th – 9th October 2009.

It is a demanding competition proving not only the physical and mental strength of the competitors, but also their skills that every military person should have. The increasing number of competing teams indicates the growing popularity of this outdoor competition.

New Web Portal "Summer Survival"

On August 5, 2009, the Information Systems Operation Section, Department of Information Technologies, TC-MA Institute of Development has launched a new web portal called "Summer Survival".

The portal informs on history and provides topical news from the international AFCR championship military multi-contest that is held under the auspices of the AFCR General Staff and organized by the Training Command – Military Academy in Vyškov.

The Winner of Summer Survival 2008 in Vyškov is Known

The closing ceremony of the International AFCR Championship Military Multi-Contest SUMMER SURVIVAL 2008 took place in the garrison of Vyškov on Friday, October 3, 2008.

COL (GS) Jaromír Zůna, Director of the King John of Luxembourg Training and Doctrine Directorate, handed the winner’s cup to the soldiers representing the team from Chrudim. Military policemen from Prague achieved the second position and the bronze medal was won by the team from the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade in Žatec.

Summer Survival 2007

The team of Military Police triumphed in the 7th year military multi-contest, Summer Survival, taking place in Vyškov on October 1 – 5, 2007.

The Military Police nominated 3 three-member teams; two of them were composed of men and one of women. The leader of their delegation was MAJ Pavel Soural from the Department of Police Preparation and Training at the MP Headquarters.

Vyškov Welcomed Athletes for Summer Survival 2006

On Monday, October 2, 2006, the sixth year of the International AFCR Championship Military Multi-Contest “Summer Survival 2006” commenced on the premises of the Dědice Barracks in Vyškov.

Getting Over Our Limits alias Summer Survival 2005

All the athletes, who took part in the International AFCR Championship Military Multi-Contest Summer Survival 2005 from the 12th through 15th of September, had to indeed mobilize the last reserves of their power. 14 teams, which was the record-breaking number, arrived to compete. 13 teams represented the AFCR units and facilities and 1 team came from Austria. In contrast with previous years, the starting list included more women, i.e.

Summer Survival 2004

On Wednesday, September 15, the three-member teams gathered at the shore of Plumlov Dam to commence the second phase of this military multi-contest. Prior to the starting moment, which came shortly after 9 o’clock, athletes had already crossed on foot a 30 km distance in rough terrain and spent the night under the open sky.

In spite of these difficulties, all the teams prepared for the first event with a high responsibility and determination. The competitors had to move to the other side of the lake, over which, at the height of approximately 25 m, organizers suspended a rope.

Summer Survival 2003

For the third year the Military Academy in Vyškov could welcome teams from different AFCR units and facilities to test their powers and skills in individual events of the military multi-contest Summer Survival 2003.

The following six three-member teams applied for the competition this year:

  • Ground Forces College Vyškov – Team "A"
  • Ground Forces College Vyškov – Team "B"
  • 414th Training Center Vyškov
  • 11th Reconnaissance Battalion Prostějov
  • 31st Training Center Velká Hleďsebe
